Brenda was born between Fregon and Watinuma (Officer Creek) in 1974. She has always lived at Fregon and went to school there, studying up to year eleven. She left school at nineteen and started working in the community store with her parents and sister Elizabeth. Brenda worked at the store for about three years, then started working at the art centre. At the art centreshe leamt to do painting on paper, bookmarks and cards and batik on T Shirts.
Brenda has been painting since 1999. Her traditional country is at Fregon on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Lands. This region lies in the far north west part of South Australia near the Great Victoria Desert. Acrylic on canvas or linen is her preferred medium. She has learnt from her mother, Inawinytji Williamson and is permitted to paint the Seven Sisters Story and imagery relating to Inma –(ceremonial dance). She also uses, Walka –Design, to depict elements from the landscape such as claypans and sandhills.
