Biography:

Carol Young was born in Alice Springs in 1972 and grew up in Pipalyatjara in the remote Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunyjatjara Lands in north western South Australia. Carol has painted at Ninuku Arts Centre and enjoys basket weaving. As a traditional woman, Carol is custodian of stories of her land and cosmology handed down through generations. Her strong culture has survived for generations in the harsh Australian desert through an intimate knowledge of country. Carol is mother to two boys and a girl.
