Kunmanara Edwards is from Fregon on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara/ Yankunytjatjara Lands, 350km SE of ULURU.
Kunmanara is a prolific artist, with a strong sense of colour and design.
The majority of her work is in the 'walka' style and her patterning an design is informed by traditional aboriginal culture and the desert imagery of the Pitjantjatjara/Yankuntjatjara Lands. Her strong use of colour often suggest a variety fo desert flora typical of the Fregon area.
Several of Kunmanara designs have been made into rugs for the collaborative cultural project with the artisans from Kashmir. She is a mother of six children. In 2006 Kunmanara moved to Port Augusta where she lives today however her connection to the area where she grew up remain strong.
